This is the third episode in which I discuss the essential phenomenon of groove with Petr Janata.
He is a Professor in the Psychology Department and Center for Mind and Brain at the University of California, Davis. Janata’s interests are in the field of cognitive neuroscience, with focus on music and auditory perception. His lab incorporated behavioral, functional neuroimaging methods into his music perception research, to examine the bases for strong experiences with music.
This talk complement the two previous episodes about groove.
” Training to refine sense of timing and rhythm engages our brains in a beneficial way.” – Petr Janata –
