Since 1989, Reinhard Flatischler has been researching the effects of rhythm on the physiology of the human body. This research started in collaboration with Dr. H. Peter Koepchen under the umbrella of the International Society for Music in Medicine. It was noticed that Dr. Gert Müller Schwefe’s pain patients showed unexpected improvements due to TaKeTiNa in a study conducted by the German Society for Pain therapy. The question was asked how TaKeTiNa could bring about such health improvements, and a scientific explanation was sought.

As more scientists and physicians from all over Europe started to work with Flatischler, the “TaKeTiNa Rhythm-Research Project” was founded.
